Benjamin Zander is an inspiring conductor and speaker. He co-wrote this book with his wife and used to teach a class on it at the New England Conservatory. It’s a bit more philosophical than most of your books, but it’s also aimed at businesses and leaders. Overall, it’s about seeing the world through a view of possibility instead of the lens of measurement and competition. It may be difficult to pull actionable and measurable lessons from the book, but it’s incredibly optimistic and a very different way to see the world. Zander’s TED talk is beautiful and touching, linked below, and he’s one of the kindest, most caring men that I’ve ever met or heard speak.
The Art of Possibility by Benjamin Zander and Rosamund Stone Zander
I’m ok with philosophical.
I also have a thing for classical music. It’s what I listen to when I’m writing.
