Reading Practice & Habits

Reading Practice & Habits

I’m curious if @mikeschmitz and @joebuhlig have ever discussed what their reading habits/practices actually look like?

When and where do you do your reading? Certain times of days? Certain places? Kindle/iPad/Hardcover.

As a busy person, starting a reading habit feels fairly daunting, but worthwhile. After-work hours are typically taken up quickly by family engagements and I’m curious if it’s better to schedule my reading as a “work” block of sorts during my day OR reclaim a portion of family time to make the “reading” practice/habit a priority in the evening.

Had the exact same question. A few years ago I’ve found out that reading before going to bed made it easier to get into the habit (and it’s a good way to disconnect and sleep better). Haven’t stopped since :grinning:

Tip: choose books that you really want to read

This post by Mike may answer some of your questions. It has for me.

I also have a post going up on The Sweet Set shortly with a replay of a webinar I did a few weeks ago about this. But everything in that post is still accurate, I just now dump it all into Roam Research at the end.
